Air Quality Alert issued July 24 at 3:16PM PDT by NWS Spokane WA An Air Quality Alert has been issued by the following agencies: Washington Department of Ecology Colville Confederated Tribes Environmental Protection Agency An Air Quality Alert has been issued for all of Asotin, Chelan, Douglas, Ferry, Garfield, Grant, Lincoln, Okanogan, Pend Oreille, and Stevens Counties through Monday at 11 am, due to current and expected wildfire smoke from regional fires. Areas to the north and northeast of active and emerging fires in Washington and Oregon could reach Unhealthy levels of particulate matter (PM2.5). When air quality is unhealthy, everyone should reduce exposure. Limit time outside, avoid strenuous outdoor activity, and follow tips for cleaner indoor air.

Red Flag Warning issued July 24 at 8:27AM PDT until July 25 at 10:00PM PDT by NWS Spokane WA ...RED FLAG WARNING FOR WIND AND LOW HUMIDITY FRIDAY FOR PORTIONS OF CENTRAL WASHINGTON... ...RED FLAG WARNING FOR STRONG WINDS AND LOW HUMIDITY SATURDAY FOR MUCH OF THE INLAND NORTHWEST... * Affected Area: Colville Reservation (Zone 702), Okanogan Valley (Zone 703), Foothills of Central Washington Cascades (Zone 705) and Waterville Plateau (Zone 706). * Winds: Friday winds - Southwest winds 10 to 20 mph with gusts around 25 to 30 mph. Saturday winds - West/Southwest winds 15 to 30 mph with gusts around 30 to 45 mph. * Relative Humidities: 11 to 23 percent. * Impacts: Gusty winds and low humidity Friday and Saturday may lead to rapid fire spread with any new or ongoing fires. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
