Special Weather Statement issued July 5 at 4:46PM EDT by NWS Wakefield VA At 446 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Fort Barfoot, or 7 miles southeast of Blackstone, moving northeast at 10 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and heavy rain. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Reduced visibility and minor flooding possible. This strong thunderstorm will be near... Fort Barfoot around 450 PM EDT. Other locations impacted by this storm include Wellville, Dominy Corner, Forkland, Rocky Run, Blackstone Airport, Darvills, and Pattersons Store. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Heavy rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
