Flood Watch issued April 27 at 11:55PM CDT until April 28 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Fort Worth TX * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of north central and northeast Texas, including the following counties, in north central Texas, Bosque, Collin, Cooke, Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Fannin, Grayson, Hill, Hood, Hunt, Jack, Johnson, Kaufman, McLennan, Montague, Navarro, Parker, Rockwall, Somervell, Tarrant, Wise and Young. In northeast Texas, Delta, Henderson, Hopkins, Lamar, Rains and Van Zandt. * WHEN...Through Sunday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Rainfall totals of 1.5 to 3 inches, with isolated higher amounts up to 5 inches. You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Flash Flood Warning issued April 28 at 5:13AM CDT until April 28 at 7:45AM CDT by NWS Fort Worth TX At 513 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen in some areas with additional heavy rain expected over the next 1 to 2 hours. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly. HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing flash flooding. SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges. IMPACT...Life threatening flooding of urban areas, highways, streets, and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Dallas, Garland, Irving, Grand Prairie, Mesquite, Richardson, Rowlett, Desoto, Cedar Hill, Wylie, Duncanville, Lancaster, Balch Springs, University Park, Sachse, Seagoville, Highland Park, Hutchins, Cockrell Hill and Sunnyvale. This includes the following highways... Interstate 35E between mile markers 416 and 436. Interstate 45 between mile markers 274 and 284. Interstate 20 between mile markers 454 and 485. Interstate 30 between mile markers 32 and 64. Dangerous flash flooding is occurring or is imminent. If you are in an area subject to flooding, move to higher ground now! Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.

Flood Advisory issued April 28 at 4:32AM CDT until April 28 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Fort Worth TX * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of north central Texas, including the following counties, Collin, Dallas, Denton, Kaufman and Rockwall. * WHEN...Until 700 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will likely cause urban and small stream flooding. Low lying and/or poor drainage areas will experience minor flooding in the advisory area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Dallas, Plano, Garland, Irving, Grand Prairie, Mesquite, McKinney, Carrollton, Frisco, Richardson, Lewisville, Allen, Flower Mound, Rowlett, Desoto, Grapevine, Cedar Hill, Wylie, Coppell and Duncanville.
