Flood Watch issued April 28 at 9:17PM CDT until April 29 at 10:00AM CDT by NWS Houston/Galveston TX * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Texas, including the following counties, Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Houston, Madison, Polk, San Jacinto, Trinity and Walker. * WHEN...Through Monday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Training heavy rain is expected overnight which could lead to street flooding and rises on area creeks, streams and rivers. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Neches River Near Alto affecting Houston, Trinity, Anderson and Cherokee Counties. For the Neches River...including Lake Palestine, Neches, Alto, Diboll, Rockland...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Neches River near Alto. * WHEN...Until further notice. * IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Expect moderate to severe flooding of the heavily wooded floodplain. Boat ramps and picnic areas will be completely inundated. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:15 PM CDT Sunday the stage was 16.2 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to 17.5 feet Friday evening. Additional rises are possible thereafter. - Flood stage is 16.0 feet. Do not drive cars through flooded areas. The next statement will be issued Monday afternoon at 100 PM CDT.
