Flood Watch issued July 14 at 1:59PM CDT until July 16 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Austin/San Antonio TX * WHAT...Flooding and flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of south central Texas, including the following counties, Bandera, Bexar, Blanco, Burnet, Comal, Dimmit, Edwards, Frio, Gillespie, Hays, Kendall, Kerr, Kinney, Llano, Maverick, Medina, Real, Travis, Uvalde, Val Verde, Williamson and Zavala. * WHEN...Through Thursday evening. * IMPACTS...There is a potential for life threatening flooding somewhere in the watch area. Considerable to locally catastrophic flash flooding impacts are likely for portions of the US 90 corridor west of San Antonio, including the southern Edwards Plateau and Rio Grande. Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. Low-water crossings may be flooded. Extensive street flooding and flooding of creeks and rivers are possible. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Intense rainfall rates and compounding effects from multiple rounds of storms will result in a dangerous flash flooding threat through Thursday. Storm totals of 2 to 6 inches are possible over the Flood Watch area with isolated amounts of 10 to 20 inches possible in the Rio Grande Plains, southern Edwards Plateau, and US 90 corridor. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Medina River At Bandera affecting Bandera County. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Medina River at Bandera. * WHEN...Until late Thursday morning. * IMPACTS...At 15.0 feet, Moderate lowland flooding covers lowest parking sites at the Pioneer RV park in Bandera and is threatening the second level. Residents and people camping or renting properties adjacent to the river should monitor NOAA Weather Radio and social media outlets for developing heavy rain and flood conditions. Lowest homes at the upper end of Medina Lake are threatened if the lake is near spillway level. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 2:45 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 6.2 feet. - Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet. - Forecast...The river will rise to 6.5 feet late this afternoon. It will then fall to 5.0 feet just after midnight tonight. It will rise above flood stage tomorrow afternoon to 13.6 feet late tomorrow evening. It will then fall below flood stage late tomorrow evening. - Flood stage is 13.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 14.5 feet on 03/30/2007. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
