Flood Watch issued April 27 at 8:18PM CDT until April 28 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Norman OK * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Oklahoma, including the following counties, Atoka, Bryan, Carter, Cleveland, Coal, Garvin, Hughes, Jefferson, Johnston, Lincoln, Love, Marshall, McClain, Murray, Oklahoma, Payne, Pontotoc, Pottawatomie, Seminole and Stephens and northern Texas, including the following counties, Archer and Clay. * WHEN...Through Sunday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Heavy rainfall is possible from repeated rounds of thunderstorms. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Special Weather Statement issued April 27 at 10:17PM CDT by NWS Norman OK At 1017 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from 3 miles southwest of Waurika to near Megargel. Movement was east at 15 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Wichita Falls, Henrietta, Archer City, Holliday, Petrolia, Scotland, Byers, Dean, Windthorst, Bellevue, Megargel, Jolly, Westover, Bluegrove, Lake Arrowhead, Sheppard AFB, Lake Kickapoo, Newport, Lakeside City, and Pleasant Valley. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
