Flood Advisory issued May 25 at 8:21AM EDT until May 25 at 11:30AM EDT by NWS Morristown TN * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of east Tennessee, including the following counties, Anderson, Bledsoe, Blount, Grainger, Knox, Loudon, McMinn, Meigs, Monroe, Morgan, Rhea, Roane, Sevier and Union. * WHEN...Until 1130 AM EDT /1030 AM CDT/. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 820 AM EDT /720 AM CDT/, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to showers and thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Overflowing poor drainage areas will cause minor flooding in the advisory area. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain is estimated to have fallen across the area. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area during the next hour. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Knoxville, Oak Ridge, Maryville, Athens, Clinton, Lenoir City, Alcoa, Dayton, Kingston, Sweetwater, Rockwood, Loudon, Madisonville, Decatur, Farragut, Fairview, Oliver Springs, Louisville, Plainview and Spring City. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
