Flood Watch issued July 12 at 3:07PM EDT until July 13 at 2:00AM EDT by NWS Morristown TN * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of southwest North Carolina, including the following areas, Cherokee and Clay, east Tennessee, including the following areas, Anderson, Bledsoe, Blount Smoky Mountains, Bradley, Campbell, Claiborne, Cocke Smoky Mountains, East Polk, Grainger, Hamblen, Hamilton, Hancock, Hawkins, Jefferson, Johnson, Knox, Loudon, Marion, McMinn, Meigs, Morgan, North Sevier, Northwest Blount, Northwest Carter, Northwest Cocke, Northwest Greene, Northwest Monroe, Rhea, Roane, Scott TN, Sequatchie, Sevier Smoky Mountains, Southeast Carter, Southeast Greene, Southeast Monroe, Sullivan, Unicoi, Union, Washington TN and West Polk, and southwest Virginia, including the following areas, Lee, Russell, Scott VA, Washington VA and Wise. * WHEN...Until 2 AM EDT /1 AM CDT/ Monday. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms are expected through tonight. Locations that have recently seen flooding, or received several inches of rainfall, are at greatest risk of additional flooding if they receive additional heavy rainfall. Special Weather Statement issued July 12 at 8:06PM EDT by NWS Morristown TN At 806 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over Alcoa, moving northeast at 10 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Locations impacted include... Knoxville, Maryville, Alcoa, Louisville, Rockford, Eagleton Village, Lake Forest, Wildwood, and Seymour. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building. Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe shelter inside a building or vehicle.

Southwestern Knox County in east Tennessee... * WHEN...Until 1100 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 753 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Knoxville, Maryville, Alcoa, Farragut, Louisville, Rockford, Eagleton Village, Friendsville, Bearden and Wildwood. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
