Strong winds can cause blowing dust, reduced visibility, and flying debris. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution.

Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued June 28 at 11:46PM MDT until June 29 at 12:30AM MDT by NWS Rapid City SD At 1146 PM MDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line from 7 miles northwest of Wall to 5 miles south of Badlands National Park, or along a line from 33 miles west of Philip to 41 miles north of Pine Ridge, moving northeast at 30 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... Northern Badlands National Park, Scenic, Owanka, Wicksville, Wasta, Creighton, Wall, Pinnacles Ranger Station, Delta 9 Missile Silo, Quinn and Grindstone. This includes Interstate 90 in South Dakota between Mile Markers 92 and 120. Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from windows. These storms are capable of producing damaging winds and large hail. Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
