Flood Watch issued July 6 at 2:01PM EDT until July 7 at 2:00AM EDT by NWS State College PA * WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible. * WHERE...A portion of central Pennsylvania, including the following areas, Cameron, McKean, Northern Clinton, Northern Lycoming, Potter, Tioga and Warren. * WHEN...Through late tonight. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Scattered slow moving thunderstorms and locally heavy downpours will develop this afternoon and linger into this evening. Rainfall amounts could approach 2 to 3 inches in localized areas where slow moving storms persist the longest. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Please monitor the forecast and be prepared to take action should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.

Northwestern Tioga County in north central Pennsylvania... * Until 100 AM EDT. * At 912 PM EDT, emergency management reported flooding near Westfield. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen today and up to 5 inches of rain over the last 3 days. Additional rainfall amounts up to one half inch are possible in the warned area before midnight. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Emergency management reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. * Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Coudersport, Westfield, Gaines, Harrison Valley, Keeneyville, Knoxville, Ulysses and Ski Denton Ski Area. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
