Flood Watch issued April 27 at 8:18PM CDT until April 28 at 7:00PM CDT by NWS Norman OK * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of Oklahoma, including the following counties, Atoka, Bryan, Carter, Cleveland, Coal, Garvin, Hughes, Jefferson, Johnston, Lincoln, Love, Marshall, McClain, Murray, Oklahoma, Payne, Pontotoc, Pottawatomie, Seminole and Stephens and northern Texas, including the following counties, Archer and Clay. * WHEN...Through Sunday evening. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Tornado Warning issued April 27 at 11:28PM CDT until April 28 at 12:00AM CDT by NWS Norman OK At 1128 PM CDT, a confirmed large and extremely dangerous tornado was located near Lake Murray, moving north at 35 mph. This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. TAKE COVER NOW! HAZARD...Damaging tornado. SOURCE...Radar confirmed tornado. IMPACT...You are in a life-threatening situation. Flying debris may be deadly to those caught without shelter. Mobile homes will be destroyed. Considerable damage to homes, businesses, and vehicles is likely and complete destruction is possible. Locations impacted include... Ardmore, Dickson, and Lake Murray. To repeat, an extremely dangerous and potentially deadly tornado is on the ground. To protect your life, TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a storm shelter, safe room, or an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter and protect yourself from flying debris.

Flood Advisory issued April 27 at 10:14PM CDT until April 28 at 3:15AM CDT by NWS Norman OK * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Portions of central, east central, southeast, and southern Oklahoma, including the following counties, in central Oklahoma, Cleveland, Lincoln, McClain and Pottawatomie. In east central Oklahoma, Pontotoc and Seminole. In southeast Oklahoma, Johnston and Marshall. In southern Oklahoma, Carter, Garvin, Love and Murray. * WHEN...Until 315 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos. Dangerous flows over low-water crossings. Water over roadways. Overflowing poor drainage areas. Some low-water crossings may become impassable. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1014 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen in the western portion of the advisory area. - Additional rainfall amounts of 2 to 4 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Southeastern Oklahoma City, southeastern Norman, Shawnee, Ardmore, Seminole, Tecumseh, Pauls Valley, Purcell, Sulphur, Chandler, Davis, Marietta, Lone Grove, Slaughterville, McLoud, Healdton, Stroud, Prague, Wynnewood and Lexington. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Washita River near Dickson affecting Johnston, Carter and Murray Counties. * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...Washita River near Dickson. * WHEN...Until Monday evening. * IMPACTS...At 26.0 feet, Flood depths of about a foot extend along the Washita River in Murray... Carter... and Johnston counties. Over 2 thousand acres of bottomlands between Rock Creek near Dougherty and Lake Texoma are covered... with flood depths up to 6 feet in low places. Any flooding on tributary creeks is increased by backwater from the river. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 7:30 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 8.8 feet. - Bankfull stage is 25.0 feet. - Forecast...The Washita River is expected to rise to a crest of 26.0 feet early Monday morning. - Action stage is 24.0 feet. - Flood stage is 27.0 feet. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood If you encounter a flooded roadway, turn around and find an alternative route.
