In east central Oklahoma, Pontotoc and Seminole. In southeast Oklahoma, Atoka, Coal, Hughes and Johnston. Special Weather Statement issued June 23 at 4:58PM CDT by NWS Norman OK At 458 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Lane to 4 miles south of Utica. Movement was east at 30 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible. Locations impacted include... Durant, Atoka, Colbert, Caddo, Bokchito, Achille, Bennington, Silo, Tushka, Caney, Kenefic, Kemp, Mead, Armstrong, Hendrix, Cartwright, Utica, Albany, Blue, and Lane. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Flood Warning issued June 23 at 3:14PM CDT until June 23 at 6:15PM CDT by NWS Norman OK * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall. * WHERE...A portion of southeast Oklahoma, including the following counties, Atoka and Johnston. * WHEN...Until 615 PM CDT. * IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 313 PM CDT, Heavy rainfall that produced significant flash flooding earlier has ended, but runoff and additional light rain will continue present a threat of flooding. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the warned area. Between 4 and 8 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Clear Boggy Creek near Caney affecting Atoka County. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Clear Boggy Creek near Caney. * WHEN...From this afternoon to late tomorrow morning. * IMPACTS...At 31.0 feet, Creek levels rise to five feet higher than flood stage... spreading over a major portion of its bottomlands in western Atoka County... and the northeastern edge of Bryan County. Croplands and pastures are flooded... and machinery and other property are cut off from access. Many rural roads are impassable. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 2:30 PM CDT Tuesday the stage was 29.6 feet. - Bankfull stage is 26.0 feet. - Forecast...The Clear Boggy Creek is expected to rise to a crest of 31.5 feet this evening.
