Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Drink plenty of fluids and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

Flood Advisory issued July 4 at 4:34PM EDT until July 4 at 6:00PM EDT by NWS Greenville-Spartanburg SC * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues. * WHERE...East Central Caldwell County in western North Carolina... * WHEN...Until 600 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 434 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated as much as 2.50 to 3 inches of rain had fallen across a small area near Cedar Rock. Elevated stream levels are expected across Lower Creek, Zacks Fork Creek and select tributaries with flooding of a few low lying areas in these basins likely. Remain wary of high water conditions along Highway 18 between Kings Creek and Lenoir and near Zacks Fork Rd. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
