Hall County in south central Nebraska... Southwestern Hamilton County in south central Nebraska... * WHEN...Until 630 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban areas and underpasses. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 523 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 3 inches of rain have fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Big Blue River, Cherry Creek, Prairie Creek, Moores Creek, Beaver Creek, Lincoln Creek, North Branch West Fork Big Blue River, Big Slough, Flash Creek, Warm Slough, Silver Creek and Dry Creek. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Grand Island, Cairo, Alda and Phillips. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.
