Temperatures Monday through Tuesday will range from near 100 to 105. Overnight lows will remain well above normal providing only limited relief. Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, plan outdoor activities during the early morning and late evening hours, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Do not leave young children and pets in unattended vehicles. Car interiors will reach lethal temperatures in a matter of minutes.

The front will reach far southeast Montana early Monday morning. Before the frontal passage, a southeasterly low level jet will produce gusty ridgetop winds (up to 40 mph) and a slow humidity recovery over southeast Montana tonight. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
