Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued July 1 at 11:41PM EDT until July 2 at 12:00AM EDT by NWS Boston/Norton MA At 1140 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from Hadley to near Agawam to near Hartland, moving east at 50 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail. SOURCE...Law enforcement. At 1130 PM, trees were downed on the westbound side of the Massachusetts Turnpike in Blandford. IMPACT...Expect damage to trees and power lines. Locations impacted include... Springfield, Chicopee, Enfield, Westfield, Holyoke, Amherst, Windsor, Northampton, Agawam, West Springfield, Simsbury, Ludlow, South Hadley, Easthampton, Longmeadow, Suffield, East Longmeadow, Ellington, Belchertown, and Wilbraham. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately.
