Flood Watch issued May 8 at 2:18PM CDT until May 9 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Paducah KY * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of western Kentucky, including the following areas, Ballard, Caldwell, Calloway, Carlisle, Christian, Crittenden, Daviess, Fulton, Graves, Henderson, Hickman, Hopkins, Livingston, Lyon, Marshall, McCracken, McLean, Muhlenberg, Todd, Trigg, Union KY and Webster. * WHEN...Through Thursday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms will produce heavy rainfall capable of flooding commonly flood prone areas. These storms will also have a tendency to repeat their heavy rains over the same areas. Rainfall totals may approach 2 to 4 inches in total and could be locally higher in some locations. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Flash Flood Warning issued May 8 at 5:05PM CDT until May 8 at 10:00PM CDT by NWS Paducah KY At 505 PM CDT, the public reported that portions of Will Jackson Road in Trigg County were washed out. Between 1 and 4 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Public reported. IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Some locations that will experience flash flooding include... Hopkinsville, Oak Grove, Cadiz, Elkton, Fort Campbell, Wranglers Campground, Energy Lake Campground, Golden Pond Visitors Center, Land Between The Lakes Area, Turkey Bay, Clarksville, Guthrie, Pembroke, Canton, Rockcastle, Trenton, Lafayette, Herndon, Linton and Allensville. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
