THE NEW WATCH IS VALID FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN ILLINOIS THE NEW WATCH INCLUDES 1 COUNTY IN SOUTHERN ILLINOIS WHITE IN INDIANA THE NEW WATCH INCLUDES 4 COUNTIES IN SOUTHWEST INDIANA POSEY IN SOUTHWEST INDIANA SPENCER VANDERBURGH WARRICK IN KENTUCKY THE NEW WATCH INCLUDES 3 COUNTIES IN WESTERN KENTUCKY DAVIESS HENDERSON MCLEAN THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF BOONVILLE, CALHOUN, CARMI, EVANSVILLE, HENDERSON, OWENSBORO, POSEYVILLE, AND ROCKPORT.

Flood Watch issued May 8 at 2:18PM CDT until May 9 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Paducah KY * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...A portion of western Kentucky, including the following areas, Ballard, Caldwell, Calloway, Carlisle, Christian, Crittenden, Daviess, Fulton, Graves, Henderson, Hickman, Hopkins, Livingston, Lyon, Marshall, McCracken, McLean, Muhlenberg, Todd, Trigg, Union KY and Webster. * WHEN...Through Thursday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Several rounds of showers and thunderstorms will produce heavy rainfall capable of flooding commonly flood prone areas. These storms will also have a tendency to repeat their heavy rains over the same areas. Rainfall totals may approach 2 to 4 inches in total and could be locally higher in some locations. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Southwestern Spencer County in southwestern Indiana... Daviess County in northwestern Kentucky... Eastern Henderson County in northwestern Kentucky... * Until 1015 PM CDT. * At 937 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Stanley, or 11 miles west of Owensboro, moving east at 45 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees. * Locations impacted include... Owensboro, Rockport, Whitesville, Masonville, Stanley, Knottsville, St. Joseph, Eureka, Moseleyville, and Hebbardsville. This includes the following highways... Interstate 165 between Mile Markers 60 and 70. Audubon Parkway between Mile Markers 7 and 23. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. A Tornado Watch remains in effect until midnight CDT for southwestern Indiana...and northwestern Kentucky.

Flood Advisory issued May 8 at 9:45PM CDT until May 9 at 12:45AM CDT by NWS Paducah KY * WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...A portion of western Kentucky, including the following counties, Daviess, Henderson, McLean and Webster. * WHEN...Until 1245 AM CDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Water over roadways. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 945 PM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream flooding. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 0.5 to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Evansville, Owensboro, Henderson, Mount Vernon, Providence, Calhoun, Sebree, Livermore, Clay, Dixon, Corydon, Whitesville, Robards, Beech Grove, St. Joseph, Stanley, Masonville, Knottsville, Sacramento and Island. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads.
