Flood Watch issued June 25 at 3:16PM CDT until June 26 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Wichita KS * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of central, east central, south central, and southeast Kansas, including the following counties, in central Kansas, Barton, Ellsworth, Lincoln, Marion, McPherson, Rice, Russell and Saline. In east central Kansas, Chase. In south central Kansas, Butler, Cowley, Harper, Harvey, Kingman, Reno, Sedgwick and Sumner. In southeast Kansas, Allen, Chautauqua, Elk, Greenwood, Labette, Montgomery, Neosho, Wilson and Woodson. * WHEN...Through Friday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Additional storms are expected to develop over southern Kansas late this afternoon and evening. These storms will produce high rainfall rates that may lead to flooding. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Flood Warning issued June 25 at 8:03PM CDT until June 28 at 11:00AM CDT by NWS Wichita KS ...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Kansas... Verdigris River at Altoona affecting Wilson County. Verdigris River at Coffeyville affecting Montgomery County. Verdigris River at Independence affecting Montgomery and Wilson Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Verdigris River at Coffeyville. * WHEN...From Friday afternoon to late Sunday morning. * IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Flooding of low-lying areas is expected, especially along the left bank near the Water Plant. Further upstream and downstream from the gage site the river spreads out into the flood plain. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 6:00 AM CDT Thursday the stage was 7.6 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage early tomorrow afternoon to a crest of 19.2 feet Saturday evening. It will then fall below flood stage late Saturday evening. - Flood stage is 18.0 feet. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away.
