Flood Warning issued June 27 at 8:27PM CDT until June 29 at 9:37AM CDT by NWS Wichita KS ...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in Kansas... Walnut River at Arkansas City affecting Cowley County. Walnut River at Winfield affecting Butler and Cowley Counties. * WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Walnut River at Winfield. * WHEN...Until late Monday morning. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 8:00 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 24.5 feet and cresting. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage late tomorrow evening and continue falling to near 4 feet on Wednesday. - Flood stage is 18.0 feet. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov.
