Flood Watch issued June 25 at 3:16PM CDT until June 26 at 7:00AM CDT by NWS Wichita KS * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. * WHERE...Portions of central, east central, south central, and southeast Kansas, including the following counties, in central Kansas, Barton, Ellsworth, Lincoln, Marion, McPherson, Rice, Russell and Saline. In east central Kansas, Chase. In south central Kansas, Butler, Cowley, Harper, Harvey, Kingman, Reno, Sedgwick and Sumner. In southeast Kansas, Allen, Chautauqua, Elk, Greenwood, Labette, Montgomery, Neosho, Wilson and Woodson. * WHEN...Through Friday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Additional storms are expected to develop over southern Kansas late this afternoon and evening. These storms will produce high rainfall rates that may lead to flooding. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Neosho River near Erie affecting Neosho County. Neosho River near Parsons affecting Neosho and Labette Counties. Neosho River near Chanute affecting Allen and Neosho Counties. Neosho River at Oswego affecting Cherokee and Labette Counties. * WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast. * WHERE...Neosho River near Chanute. * WHEN...From Friday afternoon to Saturday afternoon. * IMPACTS...At 23.0 feet, The right bank overflows and agricultural flooding can be expected. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 2:30 PM CDT Thursday the stage was 8.8 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage tomorrow afternoon to a crest of 23.9 feet tomorrow evening. It will then fall below flood stage early Saturday morning. - Flood stage is 23.0 feet. Do not drive into flooded areas or go around barricades. Nearly two feet of water will carry most vehicles away. Turn around, don't drown. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas.
