Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Special Weather Statement issued July 3 at 4:02AM EDT by NWS Northern Indiana At 401 AM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along a line extending from near Decatur to Osceola to near Bourbon. Movement was east at 40 mph. HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is possible. Locations impacted include... Elkhart, Mishawaka, Goshen, Sturgis, Three Rivers, Nappanee, Dowagiac, Bremen, Ligonier, Syracuse, Lagrange, Dunlap, Simonton Lake, Granger, Middlebury, Osceola, Albion, Constantine, Cassopolis, and Wakarusa. This includes Interstate 80 in Indiana between mile markers 84 and 124. If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
