Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued July 21 at 3:13PM EDT until July 21 at 3:45PM EDT by NWS Louisville KY At 313 PM EDT/213 PM CDT/, severe thunderstorms were located along a line extending from 8 miles west of New Albany to 15 miles southwest of English, moving east at 25 mph. HAZARD...60 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees. Locations impacted include... Louisville, Jeffersonville, New Albany, Corydon, Northfield, Spring Valley, Rolling Fields, Glenview, Bancroft, and Riverwood. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Torrential rainfall is occurring with these storms, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

Flood Advisory issued July 21 at 3:17PM EDT until July 21 at 6:15PM EDT by NWS Louisville KY * WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...Clark County in south central Indiana... Floyd County in south central Indiana... * WHEN...Until 615 PM EDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 317 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Jeffersonville, New Albany, Clarksville, Charlestown, Sellersburg, Galena, Owen, Borden and Bethlehem. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
