Storm drains and ditches may be clogged with debris, increasing the risk of flooding. This is especially true in the Chicago metropolitan area. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Parts of the Flood Watch area have picked up 3 to 6 inches of rain in the past 48 hours. As a result, many rivers and creeks in the watch area are already at bankfull and soils are saturated. Roads and streets may be flooded. High water may recede slowly from flooded areas, possibly stalled by clogged drains. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 736 AM CDT, flooding was occurring in the warned area. In the past 48 hours, between 4 and 6 inches of rain has fallen. River gauges indicate that creeks and rivers are at or above flood stage, suggesting there are areas of standing water and flooding in the area. - Additional waves of storms may aggravate flooding today. - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
