Red Flag Warning issued June 8 at 1:03PM MDT until June 9 at 9:00PM MDT by NWS Denver CO The National Weather Service in Denver has issued a Red Flag Warning for wind and low relative humidity, which is in effect from noon to 9 PM MDT Tuesday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect. * AFFECTED AREA...Fire Weather Zones 240, 241, 242, 243, 244, 245, 246, 247, 248, 249, 250 and 251. * TIMING...From noon to 9 PM MDT Tuesday. * WINDS...Southwest 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 45 mph. * RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 9 percent. * IMPACTS...Conditions will be favorable for rapid fire spread. Avoid outdoor burning and any activity that may produce a spark and start a wildfire. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now....or will shortly. A combination of strong winds...low relative humidity...and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

Flood Advisory issued June 8 at 4:20PM MDT until June 8 at 6:15PM MDT by NWS Denver CO * WHAT...Urban area and small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. * WHERE...West Central Adams County in northeastern Colorado... West Central Denver County in northeastern Colorado... * WHEN...Until 615 PM MDT. * IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 419 PM MDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This may cause urban and small stream flooding. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Sand Creek, Second Creek, Third Creek and First Creek. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Northern Denver, Commerce City, Brighton and Henderson. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
