Severe Thunderstorm Watch issued June 21 at 12:47PM MDT until June 21 at 8:00PM MDT by NWS Goodland KS THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE HAS ISSUED SEVERE THUNDERSTORM WATCH 364 IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM MDT /9 PM CDT/ THIS EVENING FOR THE FOLLOWING AREAS IN COLORADO THIS WATCH INCLUDES 3 COUNTIES IN EAST CENTRAL COLORADO CHEYENNE KIT CARSON IN NORTHEAST COLORADO YUMA IN KANSAS THIS WATCH INCLUDES 13 COUNTIES IN NORTHWEST KANSAS CHEYENNE DECATUR GRAHAM NORTON RAWLINS SHERIDAN SHERMAN THOMAS IN WEST CENTRAL KANSAS GOVE GREELEY LOGAN WALLACE WICHITA IN NEBRASKA THIS WATCH INCLUDES 3 COUNTIES IN SOUTHWEST NEBRASKA DUNDY HITCHCOCK RED WILLOW THIS INCLUDES THE CITIES OF ARAPAHOE, ATWOOD, BENKELMAN, BIRD CITY, BURLINGTON, CHEYENNE WELLS, COLBY, CULBERTSON, GOODLAND, GRAINFIELD, GRINNELL, HILL CITY, HOXIE, LEOTI, MCCOOK, NORTON, OAKLEY, OBERLIN, PALISADE, QUINTER, SHARON SPRINGS, ST. Special Weather Statement issued June 21 at 1:49PM MDT by NWS Goodland KS At 147 PM MDT, conditions are becoming favorable for the development of landspout tornadoes in and close to a frontal zone draped from near Cope to Alvin in Colorado. However, at this time it is unknown which if any storm would produce a landspout. Any tornadoes which develop are expected to pose a limited threat. Locations impacted include... Yuma, Wray, Eckley, Abarr, Wauneta, Joes, and Heartstrong. To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement agency. They will send your report to the National Weather Service office in Goodland. Landspout tornadoes can form with a developing thunderstorm before rain, hail, and even thunder is observed. Landspout tornadoes are not usually associated with a wall cloud and are often difficult to detect with weather radar.
