Standby Signal, No.1 was updated at 2:45 a.m. on 4 July Here is the latest Tropical Cyclone Warning Bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory. The Standby Signal, No. 1 is in force. This means that a tropical cyclone now centred within about 800 kilometres of Hong Kong may affect us. At 3 a.m., Tropical Storm Maysak was estimated to be about 610 kilometres west-southwest of Hong Kong (near 19.9 degrees north 108.9 degrees east) and is forecast to move northwest or north-northwest at about 15 kilometres per hour crossing Beibu Wan. With Maysak departing from Hong Kong, the local weather has started to become dominated by the southeast monsoon associated with the ridge of high pressure, the Observatory will cancel all tropical cyclone warning signals at 3:20 a.m. and issue the Strong Monsoon Signal shortly afterwards. Under the influence of the southeast monsoon, it will still be windy today, and showers will be heavy at times at first, with thunderstorms, squalls and violent gusts. There will be swells. Members of the public are advised to stay away from the shoreline, not to engage in water sports, and stay on the alert. 1. Listen to radio, watch TV or browse the Hong Kong Observatory's website and mobile app for the latest information on the tropical cyclone.
